Join us for a stellar evening with Vermont Public and the Fairbanks Muesum
Mark Breen, Director of the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium, and Jane Lindholm will guide you through an evening under the stars, illuminating the Summer Triangle, meteor showers, the Big Dipper’s stellar landmarks and much more, with opportunities to ask all your cosmological questions. Tritium Well, the Northeast Kingdom’s own “house band," will serenade the crowd from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with their trademark fusion of roots, rock and eclectic global tunes. Meanwhile, Sugarbush will be firing up a summer backyard grill and hand‑tossed pizza station along with alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten‑free options (no outside food or drink permitted).Lawn games and family‑friendly activities round out the fun, and every attendee will be entered to win a telescope, the drawing and presentation of the prize occurring later that evening.
For those wishing to extend the experience, discounted lodging at Sugarbush is available with 20% off for event attendees, subject to availability at booking. Regardless of the weather, doors open at 7:00PM for music, dinner and activities; live music wraps at 8:30PM followed by the telescope giveaway (you must be present to win); the live stargazing broadcast begins at 9:00PM and the event concludes at 10:00PM.
This is a free event, but advanced registration is required.
