As part of our Sugarbush community, we want to make sure that you have the time and confidence to choose the right season pass based on your needs. Confidence to Buy is one of the many benefits of being a pass holder and provides even more flexibility when making the decision on what pass to purchase for next season.
More Time to Defer Your Unused 24/25 Sugarbush Local Pass*
For any reason, if you don’t use your Sugarbush Pass, you will have the option to defer the purchase price paid for your 24/25 Pass toward the purchase of a 25/26 Pass using the new Zero-Day Credit — no questions asked.
Must elect to defer your unused pass by December 12, 2024.
Q: Sometimes I have plans to ski/ride and they just don’t work out. What if I buy a Season Pass and I’m not able to use it?
A: If you don’t use your Sugarbush Local Pass or Ikon Pass for any reason, you will have the option to defer the purchase price paid towards the purchase of the following year's pass. You must make a decision and defer your pass in 'My Account' by the December due date.
Q: Do both Sugarbush Pass and Ikon Pass Adventure Assurance offer the same benefits?
A: Yes, Confidence to Buy* applies to all pass types and offers the same benefits.

Q: What Happened to the Sugarbush Value Pass?
A: Nothing. It’s now the Sugarbush Local Pass. With the word ‘Value,’ folks just seemed to think it was only good midweek and had blackouts when it’s really good any day of the season.
Q: How many destinations are part of the Ikon Pass?
A: Ikon Pass gives you access to 50+ global destinations including Sugarbush. Accessibility to each location is based on the pass product purchased.
Q: I have a current season pass, are there any special offers if I renew this spring?
A: Ikon Pass offers special renewal pricing for current pass holders, and this spring, Sugarbush will also be offering a renewal discount for next year pass holders.
Q: I like to ski Lincoln Peak all the time. I see the Local Pass provides unrestricted access to Mt. Ellen, but only provides midweek non-holiday access and early/late season access to Lincoln Peak. What are my options to ski Lincoln Peak?
Answer: Purchasing an Ikon Pass will provide unlimited skiing/riding at Sugarbush (both Lincoln Peak and Mt. Ellen) and you can visits other Ikon resorts for free. An Ikon Base pass gives you similar access, just with some holiday blackout dates.
Q: What’s the difference between Ikon Pass and Alterra Mountain Company?
A: Alterra Mountain Company owns Sugarbush Resort and other North American Ski Resorts. In 2018 Alterra Mountain Company launched the Ikon Pass.
Q: Will the Boomer Pass be available this winter?
A: Yes, whether you’ve been enjoying the Boomer Pass or you’ve been anxiously waiting the season that you’re finally 65 years old, you’re in luck!
Q: Will Sugarbush offer college passes this winter?
A: Sugarbush and Ikon College passes will go on sale after July 1st.
Q: This winter I had a Double Major College Pass that allowed me to ski at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. Will this be offered next ski season?
A: Unfortunately, the Double Major college pass has been discontinued.
Q: In the fall I have always purchased a corporate pass. Will this be available next year?
A: The Sugarbush Corporate Pass will become part of the Ikon Corporate Pass and Ikon Base Corporate Pass.
Q: I noticed that the age categories for Sugarbush passes changed a few years ago?
A: To simplify our Sugarbush offerings we revised our age brackets to mirror Ikon Pass.
Q: If I buy a Sugarbush Pass this spring and decide in the fall I’d like either an Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass, can I change passes?
A: Yes, you can choose to switch to an Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass. You will need to pay any difference in price when you purchase the new pass.
Q: Is Sugarbush still part of the Mountain Collective?
A: Sugarbush will not be part of the Mountain Collective this year.
Getting Your Pass
IKON PASS HOLDERS
Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass media will be delivered via mail during the fall. After purchasing your Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass before please go to your account on https://www.ikonpass.com to upload a new personal photo and sign your liability waiver. If you do both of these ahead of time, you will receive your pass or passes in the mail allowing you to go direct to the lift on your first day.
SUGARBUSH PASS HOLDERS
Sugarbush Local Pass holder will be receiving pass media via mail during the fall. Sugarbush passes include a guest photo, so before you arrive at the mountain, you will need to go to your account on https://www.ikonpass.com to upload a new personal photo and sign your liability waiver. If you do both of these ahead of time, you will receive your pass or passes in the mail allowing you to go direct to the lift on your first day.
FIRST TIME PASS PURCHASERS
All Ikon, Ikon Base, and Sugarbush Pass purchasers will be receiving pass media via mail during the fall. Sugarbush passes include a guest photo, so before you arrive at the mountain, you will need to go to your account on https://www.ikonpass.com to upload a new personal photo and sign your liability waiver. If you do both of these ahead of time, you will receive your pass or passes in the mail allowing you to go direct to the lift on your first day.
Terms & Conditions
- Sugarbush Season Pass prices do not include 6% Vermont State Sales Tax
- A Release of Liability must be signed upon purchase of season pass. Children under the age of 18, must have Release of Liability signed by parent/legal guardian.
- Sugarbush Season passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and not for resale
- Fraudulent use of season passes will result in the required purchase of lift access at the daily rate, as well as a 2-week suspension on the season pass. Any further misuse will result in revocation of season pass.
Holiday Blackout Dates
Ikon Pass product holiday blackout dates are 24/25 are 12/26/2024 - 12/31/2024, 1/18/2025 - 1/19/2025 and 2/15/2025 - 2/16/2025.
Sugarbush Resort holiday blackout dates are 12/25/24-1/5/25, 1/18/25-1/20/25 and 2/15/25-2/23/25.
Terms and Conditions
- Sugarbush Season Pass prices do not include 6% Vermont State Sales Tax
- A SugarXpress card must be purchased for $5 and may be reloaded for future purchases
- A Release of Liability must be signed upon purchase of season pass. Children under the age of 18, must have Release of Liability signed by parent/legal guardian.
- Sugarbush Season passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and not for resale
- Sugarbush and Ikon have a zero-tolerance policy regarding pass fraud. Fraudulent use of Sugarbush or Ikon season passes will result in loss of the pass for the duration of the season.
- If your SugarXpress card is lost or forgotten, a replacement may be purchased for $5.
