Important Mini Camper Information

Welcome Mini Campers and parents!
We are very excited for a great summer of hiking, biking, swimming, creek cruising, disc golfing, strawberry picking, nature exploration, and much more!

Sugarbush Mini Camp is run of the Micro Bear room in The Schoolhouse at Lincoln Peak. We ask that you bring a packed nut free lunch and 2 snacks with your child with an ice pack to keep it cold if needed. Ready to go lunches that do not require reheating of food are appreciated. Please pack plenty of food. With as much activity as the kids are doing, they usually work up a big appetite throughout the day.

Mini Campers will have an opportunity to bike with us on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer. Please plan on bringing your child’s bike and a helmet to camp if they would like to participate. If your child is not riding independently on two wheels we recommend balance bikes, not bikes with training wheels, as they are difficult to ride on our mountain terrain. Bikes, including balance bikes, are available for rent in the Adventure Gear Shop.

Everybody should be prepared to spend a lot of time outdoors, rain or shine. We will be spending the majority of the day outside exploring this amazing mountain and all it has to offer.

Required Gear

  • Appropriate clothing for rain or shine outdoor time – rain coat/ windbreaker, shorts or pants, shirt, sweatshirt /fleece for cooler days (cotton is okay for dry days, tech materials are better regardless of the weather), change of clothing for rainy days

  • Sturdy sneakers, bike shoes, and/or hiking boots (shoes should be able to be put on by your child without assistance if possible.)

  • Waterproof sandals/water shoes that can be worn in the river (no flip-flops)

  • Swim suit

  • Backpack (small daypack is okay)

  • Life Jacket- all campers need to pass a swim test with our camp counselors and lifeguard present to swim without a life jacket or floatation device.

  • Water bottle or Camelbak type system for hydration (very important!). Please do not pack your child any soda of any kind.

Additional Optional Gear

  • Insect Repellent

  • Sun block

  • Hat with brim

  • Extra pair of socks

  • Bike and Helmet for biking days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

  • Extra snacks (no nuts please!)

* All Mini campers must be potty trained and non-napping to attend camp. If your child is not potty trained, or unable to work through the day without a mid afternoon nap, they are welcome to participate in our Day School programs if space allows. Please call the Sugarbush Day School at 802-583-6717 to make these arrangements.*

Mini Campers will participate in some off campus trips throughout the summer. If a trip is planned for the week your child is attending camp, you will receive notice the week prior alerting you to our planned trip.

Please label everything. Your child will have a cubbie to keep all their belongings together as well.
