Cabin Cat Adventures

Sugarbush was the first resort in the eastern U.S. to offer cabin cat adventures to enhance their skiing/riding and dining services.  The Lincoln Limo, as it’s known, is a snow cat fitted with a twelve-passenger heated cabin.  These private adventures include: Allyn’s Lodge Fireside Dining, Sunrise First Tracks, Sunset Groomer Rides and Mt. Ellen Cat Ski/Ride. All of these offer guests a unique opportunity to celebrate a memorable experience full of camaraderie.  These adventures are a wonderful option for birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, holiday dinners or work retreats/events.

Dinners, First Tracks and Groomer Rides are only offered at Lincoln Peak from mid-December through the end of March.  Once Mt. Ellen closes in the spring, we then relocate the Lincoln Limo there for our Mt. Ellen Cat Ski/Ride.  All offerings are weather dependent and subject to availability.  If the resort decides to cancel the event, guests will be entitled to a full refund. Otherwise, see cancellation terms below.

For the 2020-2021 Season, the following COVID Protocols apply:

  • All bookings for these adventures are for same households only, except where noted below
  • All guests must have completed the Vermont Attestation stating their compliance with the Vermont Cross State Travel & Quarantine Requirements prior to arrival

Allyn’s Lodge Remote Fireside Dining

Ride the Lincoln Limo, our luxury heated Cat, to the top of Gadd Peak and our mid-mountain Allyn’s Lodge for a candle-lit gourmet feast.  Then, weather permitting, have the option to ski/ride down under the moonlight or ride the Cat back to the base area.

Sunrise First Tracks

There’s truth in the old proverb “the early bird catches the worm.”  At Sugarbush, you can book a private Cat ski and ride tour on our Lincoln Limo to experience pristine, deep powder or untouched corduroy as you cruise down the mountain before anyone else.  These guided tours leave from the base of the Gate House Quad, and get you access to the terrain off the North Lynx Triple before the lifts start spinning.  The tours are weather dependent and do require adequate snow cover. These tours are for any age but require intermediate – advanced skiing/riding ability, as there is no beginner terrain available in this location.  Guided by some of Sugarbush’s finest, the number of runs you get per tour depends on the speed of the group.  Most tours average at least five runs.  Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles or hydration packs and snacks, which they can store in the cabin cat.  Under COVID protocols, food and water will need to be consumed outside of the Cat this year.

$900 gets you your own private Cat with twelve seats available for you and your family.  Guests will meet their driver and guide at 6:45 AM at the base of the Gate House Quad.  The event concludes around 8:30 AM when you return to the base area.  You must book by 12:00 PM two days in advance.  Cancellations made by 12:00 PM the day prior will be eligible for full refund.  Cancellations made after this time will be subject to a processing fee.

Sunset Groomer Rides

Enjoy a one-hour private ride at dusk in the heated Lincoln Limo to the summit of Lincoln Peak.  You will venture above the Heaven’s Gate Triple to the old terminus of the historic Sugarbush Gondola.  This can be a great experience for those in your family that don’t care to ski or ride.  The route to the top is based on snow cover but typically includes ascending via the Spring Fling / Snowball / Jester Route and descending via the Jester / Downspout Route.  Your driver can help take cherished photos at the top while you enjoy sweeping views across Lake Champlain to the beautiful Adirondacks.  On certain evenings you may see all the way to the New Hampshire White Mountains.  Under the right weather conditions, you are sure to have a glorious and memorable sunset.  Under COVID protocols, we will not allow any eating or drinking while in the Cat.  Guests may pack items with them to consume at the top or bottom of the trip.

$540 gets you your own private Cat with twelve seats available for you and your family.  We follow airline rules so children 2 and under may ride in adult laps, otherwise they account for a seat.  Please keep in mind the Cat is not equipped with seat belts. Guests will meet their driver at 4:45 PM at the top of the Super Bravo stairs at Lincoln Peak, adjacent to the Base Cabins.  The event concludes around 6:00 PM.  Must book by 12:00 PM the day prior.  Cancellations made by 12:00 PM the day of will be eligible for full refund.  Cancellations made after this time will be subject to a processing fee.
