Benefitting Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports

Who they are: Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports is a nationally recognized organization that empowers people of all abilities through inclusive sports and recreational programming regardless of the ability to pay. They offer the largest variety of program opportunities and unique, specialized equipment. Vermont Adaptive operates a facility out of Sugarbush's Mt. Ellen, providing adaptive skiing for its clients.

Why Chair #1: Simply because everybody loves #1! The first chair to ascend the mountain and the first we want to auction off.

Benefitting High Fives Foundation

Who they are: High Fives was formed to create a universal shift in adventure sports that expand on what is possible for those who have experienced life-changing injuries. CEO and founder of High Fives, Roy Tuscany, suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in 2006 while training in the terrain park at Mammoth Mountain, California. From that point, he was committed to becoming a leader in the education and recovery of life-altering injuries in outdoor action sports for injured athletes and Veterans, so they can get back to doing what they love. Today Sugarbush hosts several High Fives fundraising events and sponsors them throughout the year.

Why Chair #40: The Heaven’s Gate Triple spun for 40 years, from 1984 to 2024, transporting guests to the top of Lincoln Peak and allowing them to access some of the most difficult terrain at Sugarbush, as well as enjoy breathtaking views of the Mad River Valley, Adirondacks, and Lake Champlain.

Benefitting Hannah’s House

Who they are: Hannah’s House is a community supported nonprofit mental health and resource center dedicated to promoting emotional and mental health for children, teens, families and individuals by providing local, accessible counseling services, community outreach through education, financial assistance, and alternative therapies.

Why Chair #19: Sugarbush was founded in 1958 and Chair 19, alongside Chair 58, combine for our inaugural year. This past winter was the 65th season at Lincoln Peak where Heaven’s Gate spins, and 60th at Mt. Ellen (formerly Glen Ellen).

Benefitting Kelly Brush Foundation

Who they are: The Kelly Brush Foundation was established to ensure those who have experienced a spinal cord injury can still live an active lifestyle. Kelly, after being injured herself in 2006 at an NCAA alpine ski race, founded KBF to advocate and provide resources for those similarly affected. They are dedicated to giving grants to provide resources and equipment so these athletes can get back out there. Since its founding, they are focused on continuously guaranteeing ski racers are training and competing in the safest possible venues. Sugarbush remains an active partner of the organization, sponsoring various events and hosting "Ski Days with Kelly" at the resort from time to time.

Why Chair #84: The Heaven’s Gate Triple was installed in 1984, officially replacing the Sugarbush Gondola as the lift accessing Lincoln Peak’s summit. The lift ran for 40 years before being disassembled in 2024 to make way for the new Heaven’s Gate Quad.

Benefitting Mad River Valley Community Pantry

Who they are: Since 2001, the MRV Community Pantry has been an important part of the Mad River Valley. From fresh produce to household supplies, and pet food to baby diapers, the pantry supports neighbors throughout the MRV by helping meet their needs and stretch their budgets. The MRV Community Pantry is funded and operated by the Mad River Valley Interfaith Council, a coalition of churches and religious groups in the Mad River Valley, and staffed by volunteers.

Why Chair #58: Sugarbush was founded in 1958 and Chair 58, alongside Chair 19, combine for our inaugural year. This past winter was the 65th season at Lincoln Peak where Heaven’s Gate spins, and 60th at Mt. Ellen (formerly Glen Ellen).

Benefitting Three Peaks Medical Clinic

Who they are: Three Peaks Medical Clinic is dedicated to providing the mountain community with access to on mountain medical care as well as serving to provide a venue for facilitating wilderness and sports medicine research. It operates out of Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak.
