Our Ski & Ride School reservations staff will set you up with just the right coach to really focus on your goals, your needs, and your skiing and riding so you really can Be Better Here.

Book a one-on-one private lesson for the most personalized experience, or book with a small group of up to 6 friends and family to learn together. Groups taking lessons together should be of a similar ability level and choose either skiing or snowboarding.

Private lessons must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance. Lift tickets and rental equipment must also be reserved in advance if needed, so please be aware of this when booking.

All participants must meet Vermont Travel Guidelines. Please review additional requirements at the bottom of this page.

Rates do not include lift access or rental equipment. We recommend arriving at least 45 minutes in advance if rental equipment is needed.  Beginner area lift tickets available for lesson participants.  Please inquire when booking a lesson.      

*Holiday Dates: December 25, 2020 - January 3, 2021; January 16-18, 2021; and February 13-21, 2021.

Private lessons fill up during the holiday periods; please make reservations well in advance.

Parents Please Be Aware: 

  • Ski & Ride School participants under the age of 13 are required to wear a properly fitted and fastened winter sports helmet.
  • Children in lessons with multiple participants may ride lifts by themselves if they are over the age of 6
  • Children may use terrain features and jumps while skiing and riding in a lesson.    
  • For guests ages 7 through 12 we recommend lesson participants be of a similar age, as smaller children generally have a different learning rate.
  • For children 6 and under one on one lessons are recommended.  Children may be booked together in a lesson if accompanied by an adult for the duration of the lesson to assist with the lift and to help maintain social distancing measures.  
  • We start all 3 year old and 4 year old new skiers and riders with a 30 minute lesson.  Children may progress to longer durations based on feedback from instructors.
  • All parents of children 6 and under are asked to stay for the beginning of the lesson to assure child can handle being outside for the duration of the lesson.  
  • Our priority is creating a safe and positive experience.



All participants must confirm on each day(s) that the student is enrolled in a Sugarbush Winter Program Activity that:1) The student will not have been in close contact with a person that has tested positive for COVID 19 within the 14 days prior to; 2) The student will not come to the Resort if they have any of the following COVID 19 health symptoms: fever of 100.4F or greater, coughing, shortness of breath, chills, fatigue, muscle pain or body aches, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea; 3) The student will not have traveled outside of the state in the 14 days prior to visiting Sugarbush and/or the student agrees they will have met the Vermont Cross State Travel / Quarantining Guidelines
