Mountain Operations Protocol

Parking Lots and Shuttles

Parking lots will operate normally this year, and we encourage you to use your car as a base of operations for the day. There will be no boot rooms available in base lodges, and you will need to boot up at your cars. Jitney shuttles will be operating at full capacity this winter, and we hope to have them available most days. Guests should not be gathering in the parking lots with other cars or members outside of their own household.

GMT shuttle busses between the base areas and around the Mad River Valley will be operating daily 50% capacity. Given these reduced capacities, please be aware of limited space on the busses when planning rides, particularly when getting picked up on Slide Brook Road. Expect increased wait times.

Opening Plans and Lift Protocol

Our terrain expansion and snowmaking plans will remain the same as in years past, but we will be adjusting the way we load lifts. Different traveling parties will not be required to sit together. This means that you will be able to ride with only your same traveling party even if that does not fill the chair. Guests who are not in the same party may ride the chairlift with each other at a 50% capacity (so two people who aren't from the same party could load a quad chairlift).

We also will not have “singles lines” this winter and ask that singles queue up with everyone else. Singles riders can still choose to ride separately, they just will not have a separate queue. Each lift queue in spaced to allow for social distancing and we will have staff monitoring spacing and mask usage as needed.

With our spread out lift system and plan to limit overall skier capacity on certain days, guests could see an improved ski experience with less overall downhill traffic.
