Fall in the Mad River Valley is the place to be and Columbus Day weekend features the 24th annual Mad Dash 10K/5K Run/Walk with over 500 participants on Sunday, October 13th, starting at 10 AM. The Mad River, along with the Mad Dash, is a continuous backdrop for all kinds of adventure and things to do in Vermont. The weekend of October 12-14 comes alive with multiple events throughout the valley so mark your calendar and join us for a run or relaxing weekend. Plus, the fall brings the majestic colors as our trees turn vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red as leaf season is in full swing. Add Sugarbush’s Community Days to the weekend where you can celebrate autumn with pumpkin carving, scenic lift rides, disc golf and hikes, harvest-inspired dining, music, kids’ camps, and mountain activities. Spend the day, the weekend, a week and there will always be more to discover. Fun stuff all the time in the Mad River Valley.
The Mad Dash, sponsored by Sugarbush Resort, includes a 5k run race, a 10K run race, a 5K walk and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield kid’s fun run. Every participant is welcomed by our many volunteers and receives an event shirt, a healthy lunch, refreshments and great entertainment. There are raffle prizes to be won along with a silent auction featuring an assortment of great items from local valley businesses. The run/walk course takes you through beautiful countryside on local roads with scenic views, farms, a covered bridge and colorful meadows. Enter early and save on registration fees.
