Sugarbush’s Presidents’ Week Boasts 41 Events From Dog Parades and Magic Shows to Fly-Tying Demos and Live Music
Warren, VT (February 12, 2019) – Sugarbush Resort has 41 separate events planned for the upcoming Presidents’ Week. The fun lasts from Saturday, February 16th through Sunday, February 24th.
Saturday kicks off with S’Mores Cookouts at 4 PM at Lincoln Peak and 3:30 at Mt. Ellen. That day is also highlighted by the Tour de Moon guided moonlit skin to Walt’s at the Glen House, which will remain open until 8 PM, followed by Mt. Ellen After Dark from 8 PM – 12 AM in the Green Mountain Lounge featuring DJ Chris Logan. Kids can enjoy Gathering of the Groms with the PARKS crew and freestyle coaches at 4:30 PM or a Kids Cooking Class: All You Knead is Love with The Doughnut Chef from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
On Sunday, February 19th the day starts with the Dog-friendly Snowshoe Tour at 9:45 at Mt. Ellen. Children can participate in the Kids Torchlight Parade with Murphy Moose at 4:00 or enjoy Kids Pizza and Movie Night from 5 – 8 PM in The Schoolhouse featuring Incredibles 2 and Paddington.
The Blizzard Boogie, an outdoor party with a live DJ in the Gate House Courtyard starts at 3 PM on Monday, February 18th, along with S’mores. That evening, John Egan will host a Film Screening and Social in the Gate House Lodge from 6 – 8 PM, sharing some of his favorite moments from his ski career.
Tuesday, February 19th is highlighted by 802 Reptiles Show, an educational and entertainment-based show featuring lizards and snakes that starts at 4:00 PM in The Schoolhouse.
Wednesday, February 20th includes a Photography Outback Tour into Slide Brook at 9 AM starting from Lincoln Peak, a Dog Sled Demo outside The Schoolhouse at 4 PM, a Magic Show with Pete and Chris’ Amusement at 6 PM in The Schoolhouse, and another S’mores cookout at both base areas.
On Thursday, February 21st from 6 – 8 PM guests can enjoy a Paint & Sip event in the Gate House Lodge. Also at 6 PM is Fly Fishing in Vermont: Presentation & Fly-Tying Demo with a compilation of fishing movies from Alaska to Bonefish, kids casting practice, and fly-tying demos.
Friday, February 22nd hosts another Kids Cooking Class: How the Tollhouse Cookie Crumbled from 5:30 – 7:30 PM in The Schoolhouse. From 7 – 9 PM, ski fans can enjoy Warren Miller’s Face of Winter Film Screening in the Gate House Lodge, the latest Warren Miller ski film.
The Cowbell Champagne Party, an annual tradition in the Green Mountain Lounge at Mt. Ellen, starts at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 23rd. The 9th Annual Dog Parade & Canine Couture Contest begins at 3:30 PM in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard with donations benefitting PAWSitive Pantry. That night, another Kids Pizza & Movie Night features Finding Dory and Tangled in The Schoolhouse.
Finally, Sunday, February 25th finishes off the festivities with the USASA Slopestyle competition in the Riemergasses Terrain Park from 9 AM – 3 PM, along with another S’mores Cookout.
There are several recurring events throughout the week as well. Mad River Distillers Tastings will take place in front of Castlerock Pub from 2 – 6 PM on both Saturdays and both Sundays. There will also be a local artisan market in Rumble’s Kitchen from 12 – 6 PM on both Saturdays and both Sundays. Gadd Brook Open Houses are offered daily. Live après music can be found in bars around the mountain on both weekends. In addition, holiday race camps are available for children ages 10-17 from February 18th to February 22nd.
