Sugarbush’s 60th Anniversary Continues with Historic Spring Events
Warren, VT (March 13, 2018) – In celebration of its 60th Anniversary, Sugarbush is bringing back a number of old historic events from the “March Madness” days of the resort.
The fun kicks off tomorrow, March 2nd with Sloshwicking – a race where each competitor is equipped with one ski, one snowshoe, and a broom (for balance or helping to trip up other competitors). Admission is free and competitors are asked to bring their own boot and ski, with the resort providing the snowshoes and brooms. Registration for the event is in the Valley House Cafeteria from 10 – 11:30 AM and limited to the first 100 people, with the event beginning at noon.
On Sunday, March 10th Sugarbush is bringing back the Snow Golf Classic. This event takes place from 10 AM – 12 PM at the top of the Gate House Quad. Competitors will test their driving range golf skills, aiming for hoops each worth varying amounts of points.
The Waiter Challenge makes its return on Tuesday, March 12th at 3:00 PM. Servers from around the Valley will compete to carry trays full of water through an obstacle course in ski boots at the bottom of the Super Bravo Quad.
Sunday, March 31st brings Dummy Big Air back to Sugarbush after a several year hiatus. Competitors are encouraged to build dummies with skis to see whose will fly the furthest off a jump built at the bottom of Mt. Ellen. Following the event will be live music by The Detonators from 3 – 6 PM.
Finally, the longest continuously operating Pond Skimming event in North America returns Saturday, April 6th at Lincoln Peak. Registration for the event is from 9 – 11 AM in the Castlerock Pub with a cash only entry fee of $20. The event is limited to the first 110 competitors. The fun then kicks off at 12 PM at the bottom of Spring Fling.
