Sugarbush Teams Up with POWE Snowboards for Sugarbush Green Up Day
Warren, VT (May 9, 2017) – On Thursday, May 11th Sugarbush Resort will be teaming up with Vermont-based, POWE Snowboards for a community green up day around the resort.
The event kicks off with community registration in the main parking lot at Lincoln Peak at 9:00 AM. Sugarbush employees and POWE will be split into groups and given area assignments around the resort and nearby roads. At noon there will be a BBQ lunch provided by Sugarbush at the Gate House Lodge.
POWE Snowboards, a Burlington, Vermont-based snowboard company, focuses on making the snowboarding industry a greener and more sustainable practice. They combine environmentally conscious materials, real environmental actions, community involvement, and high end art to strengthen their connection with nature. POWE hopes to learn more about what types of trash is showing up around Sugarbush and then advise the resort on ways to improve their waste systems.
Last season, Sugarbush employees collected 70 bags of trash and 36 bags of recycling. A total of 100 employees collectively spent 224.5 hours greening up on resort property, as well as along Mt. Ellen Access Road, German Flats Road, Sugarbush Access Road, Inferno Road, West Hill Road and Golf Course Road.
