Sugarbush Resort Mountain Activities open for the season with special Kids Day on June 24
WARREN, VERMONT – Celebrating the start of summer season at Sugarbush Resort, a special Kids Day will be held on June 24, 2011.
Full of free and discounted adventures, the day begins at 9 am and stretches until 6 pm that night, and highlights the many offerings available at Sugarbush’s numerous properties, including the golf club, the health & racquet club (SHARC), and the mountain base area.
'Kids Day is a great way to kick off summer here at Sugarbush,' says Win Smith, president and owner of Sugarbush. ' It allows us to showcase the many family-friendly activities we'll be offering up here this summer.'
Kids Day events at Lincoln Peak base area begin with free mountain bike clinics designed to introduce kids to the sport in a fun and safe way. Led by Sugarbush professional coaches, the free one-hour clinics will be held at 11:30 am and 2 pm, and will meet at the base of Super Bravo chairlift 10 minutes prior to each clinic. The rides will take place in the immediate vicinity of the base area, and kids are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets.
Also at Lincoln Peak from 10 am-6pm, chairlift rides will be offered for $5 on the Super Bravo chairlift; zipline rides will be offered for $5 for two rides; and sessions in the 'Bounce House' inflatable obstacle course will be $5. Kids will also have free access to the Lincoln Peak disc golf course (discs not included).
In the Gate House courtyard, a special $5 kids barbecue lunch will be served from 11 am-2 pm. During the long lunch hour, free face painting will be offered, and a free concert performance will be given by local musician Rob Williams.
At the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club, a pair of free kids golf clinics will be hosted by Director of Golf R.J. Austin. The instructional and fun 30-minute clinics will be offered at 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, and will meet in the Clubhouse 10 minutes prior to the start of each session.
At the SHARC, two free kids tennis clinics will be hosted by USPTA Pro Ross Greene at 1 pm and 2 pm. The clinics will focus on ways to inspire a life-long appreciation of the sport. Kids should meet inside the SHARC 10 minutes prior to each session. Swimming and rock climbing will also be available for kids all day long at the SHARC.
Kids Day also kicks off the season for Sugarbush Summer Adventure Camps, a series of eight five-day camps for kids that introduce kids to mountain biking, hiking, nature education, and more.
