Sugarbush Resort kicks off February with an event filled weekend
Warren, VT February 1, 2012 – Sugarbush Resort is hosting three skiing and riding competitions on the weekend of February 4-5, 2012. The JR Castlerock Challenge and The Main Event are on Saturday February 4, 2012 and the Randonee Rally is on Sunday February 5, 2012.
The three events focus on three very different aspects of snow sports. The JR Castlerock Challenge, a qualifying event for the Ski The East Freeride Tour, is an unconventional terrain freeskiing competition that takes place on one of the most difficult trails at Sugarbush. The Main Event, now in its ninth year, is a snowboard park and rail competition with over $10,000 in prizes. And on Sunday backcountry skiers will compete in a race that requires competitors to make ascents and descents along the 10 plus mile course.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting all of these events here at Sugarbush this weekend,” said John Egan, Sugarbush’s Chief Recreation Officer. “It really is testament that Sugarbush has terrain and events for all skier and rider types.”
