Sugarbush Resort Golf Club Opens this Weekend

Warren, VT (April 24, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort Golf Club is set to open for the 2017 golf season this weekend. The club plans to open their golf shop from 8 AM – 5 PM with the driving range and 18 holes open.

Head Golf Pro, Roger King, returns for his second season at the club. King finished 3rd overall in the VTPGA, of which he is also in the second year of a two-year term as President. King will continue to offer lessons and clinics for golfers of all ages and will oversee tournaments and various events.

The club has made several investments this year including a new roof on the clubhouse, over $30,000 in new equipment, and a revamped retail shop. This season the management of the shop is moving internally, and will be overseen by King and Director of Golf, Rob Schonder.

“We are very excited for the 2017 golf season,” says Schonder. “This year, our new equipment purchases will further enhance the experience of our golfers, which is always our ultimate goal. New inventory is arriving daily at the shop, and we’re sure our golfers will enjoy all the new brands we’ll be carrying.”

King and Schonder have already compiled a full list of events for the golf season, kicking off with a Ski & Tee Weekend this Saturday – Monday, which includes golf and skiing for just one $50 ticket. Other big events this year include the Brew-Grass Golf Scramble, Boomer Scramble Championship and VSWGA Ladies State Day in June, Junior Golf Camp and VGA Men’s State Day in July, Stroke Play Club Championship in August, and New England Craft Beer Open, Sugarbush Ryder Cup and Vermont Troops and Families Tournament in September.

There will also be a number of recurring weekly events including League Night on Wednesdays, $35 Thursdays, Ladies Night and Burger Night on Fridays, and Wood Fired Pizza Night on Saturdays.

The Golf Fore Pack, four transferable golf rounds for just $249, remains on sale through the end of April.
