Sugarbush Hosts Nantucket Weekend

Warren, VT (March 17th, 2015) – Sugarbush Resort hosts the second annual Nantucket Weekend featuring island culinary and beverage specials Friday, March 20th – Sunday, March 22nd.  Nantucket chefs, brewers and wine experts will travel to Sugarbush to share recipes and flavors from the island.


There is significant crossover between summer island visitors and winter Valley visitors, which has inspired Sugarbush’s partnership with Nantucket Race Week--an annual nine-day regatta hosted on Nantucket each August.  For the past three years Sugarbush has been a major sponsor of the race, with a presence on the island throughout the week.


During Nantucket Weekend at Sugarbush, guest chef Gabriel Frasca of Ventuno and Straight Wharf Restaurants will co-host an Allyn’s Lodge Fireside Dining Experience, a cooking demonstration, and dining specials at Timbers Restaurant.  The Allyn’s Lodge Dinner on Friday, March 20th will feature a menu prepared by Frasca and Chef Jim Dinan of Sugarbush, along with wines chosen by Nantucket Wine Festival. The dinner will culminate with a guided night ski or cat ride down followed by dessert at Timbers Restaurant. 


A Chef’s Demo and Wine Pairing hosted by Chef Gerry Nooney of Sugarbush and Chef Gabriel Frasca will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, March 21st, followed by a four-course dinner with beer pairings provided by Nantucket’s Cisco Brewery – part of the Castlerock Pub Beer Dinner series.


Throughout the weekend, Timbers Restaurant will offer Nantucket-inspired dining specials prepared by Timbers Chef Todd Dibkey and Chef Frasca, wine pairings by Nantucket Wine Festival, and beer on tap by Cisco Brewery.  The Nantucket Wine Festival hosts a raffle Saturday and Sunday with a drawing on Sunday afternoon for a NWF VIP package and a pair of Grand Tasting tickets.
