Sugarbush Expands Women's Programming
Warren, VT (July 26, 2016) – Sugarbush is offering mountain bike and golf clinics just for women this season. Ali Zimmer, a pro mountain biker and Mad River Valley local, leads downhill riding clinics on Women’s Wednesdays. Thursday evenings the golf course offers Ladies Specific Golf Clinics.
Women’s Wednesdays are for beginner and intermediate riders with some mountain bike experience. In an effort to support women’s participation in the riding community, Zimmer fosters a non-competitive environment that aids personal empowerment and confidence. Driven by her deep love of nature, Zimmer has led a number of women’s rides in Middlebury and the Mad River Valley. She has also worked as a mentor for the Little Bellas program in Vermont, Wisconsin and California. Clinics are free every Wednesday through August from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
Ladies Night Clinics are for women of any skill level who are looking to advance their golf skills. Starting at 5:15 PM every Thursday and lasting about an hour, these clinics focus on different topics each week. Ladies Night Clinics are $30 for non-members and $20 for members. But no ladies night is complete without a glass or two of wine and every Thursday, Timbers offers 50% off bottles of wine under $100.
Another popular activity for women is yoga at the Sugarbush Health and Recreation Center (SHaRC). Misa and Meredith teach yoga at the SHaRC. Misa teaches on Sundays and Wednesdays at 9:30 AM, Tuesdays at noon, and Thursdays at 5:30 PM. She usually takes her classes outside as long as the weather allows for it. Meredith teaches at 8:30 AM on Saturday. Practicing yoga is great exercise fostered by a relaxing environment. Men are also invited to the ShaRC yoga classes.
