Sugarbush Cleans Nearly 100 Bags of Trash at Green Up Day

Warren, VT (June 11, 2018) – In late May, Sugarbush teamed up with Vermont-based, POWE Snowboards for a community green up day around the resort.

This year, Sugarbush employees collected 65 bags of trash and 33 bags of recycling. A total of 74 employees collectively spent 137 hours greening up on resort property, as well as along German Flats Road, Sugarbush Access Road, Inferno Road and Golf Course Road. Interesting items found included part of the old magic carpet lift from the resort, a yak track in a tree, and a Stowe RFID card.

POWE Snowboards, a Burlington, Vermont-based snowboard company, focuses on making the snowboarding industry a greener and more sustainable practice. They combine environmentally conscious materials, real environmental actions, community involvement, and high end art to strengthen their connection with nature. POWE hopes to learn more about what types of trash is showing up around Sugarbush and then advise the resort on ways to improve their waste systems.
