MLK Weekend at Sugarbush Chock Full of Events
Warren, VT (January 9, 2018) – Sugarbush Resort is hosting close to twenty separate events for the upcoming MLK Weekend, from indoor culinary events to torchlight parades and fireworks.
The fun kicks off on Friday, January 12th with the Ski & Ride with the Point Après Party at 4:00 PM in the Castlerock Pub. That evening, kids can enjoy Kids Pizza & Movie Night from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in The Schoolhouse featuring The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature and The Lego Ninjago Movie.
On Saturday, January 13th, the day begins with Guided Outback Snowshoe Tours at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM at Lincoln Peak. The Tell a Friend Tour kicks off at 10:30 AM in the Riemergasse Park over at Mt. Ellen. Guests can celebrate NSAA Safety Month with Meet the Parks Crew at 4:00 PM in the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge where they’ll learn about terrain park safety and etiquette. Afterwards, Gathering of the Groms, a freestyle learning session for kids, takes place just outside the Mt. Ellen Base Lodge.
Meanwhile, back at Lincoln Peak, there will be a Local Artisan Market from 12:00 – 6:00 PM in Rumble’s Kitchen featuring local artists like Mad River Antler, Basin Reclaimed, Mike Wood Guy and Josh Axelrod Photography. At 3:30 PM in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard, there will be a free S’Mores Cookout. Kids can participate in the Kids Torchlight Parade with Murphy Moose at 4:00 PM outside The Schoolhouse while another Torchlight Parade and Fireworks event will begin at 7:00 PM on Spring Fling. Kids can also enjoy a Kids Cooking Class: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs from 5:30 – 7:30 PM in The Schoolhouse. Late night, guests can enjoy music with Bow Thayer in Castlerock Pub starting at 9:00 PM.
Rounding out the weekend, Sunday starts with Coalition Snow Demo Day from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Mt. Ellen. Another Local Artisan Market will be in Rumble’s Kitchen from 12:00 – 6:00 PM. The Blizzard Boogie runs from 3:00 – 4:30 PM as an outdoor dance party with Murphy Moose and food, including another S’mores Cookout. A final Kids Pizza & Movie Night will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM featuring Kobu and the Two Strings and Boss Baby.
For guests looking for a slopeside home at Sugarbush, a Sugarbush Living Open House will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM both Saturday and Sunday in Gadd Brook Slopeside. Saturday’s Open House features special guest Ploughgate Creamery, the Valley’s artisanal butter maker.
