Holiday Fun for the Whole Family at Sugarbush Resort


Warren, VT (December 16, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort is celebrating this holiday season with a full week of events.

The holiday cheer kicks off on Friday, December 23rd with an Ugly Sweater Party at Castlerock Pub. Guests are encouraged to wear their tackiest Christmas sweater, enjoy complimentary appetizers and show off those singing skills with Christmas-carol themed “karoloke”. Prizes will be awarded to some of the ugliest and most creative sweaters. The Family Gingerbread House Building Workshop is another great way to get into the holiday spirit. Bring the whole family at 5:00 PM on Friday for a night of tasty creativity.

There will be a Christmas Eve Service on Saturday, December 24th in the Gate House Lodge at 5:00 PM. Timbers Restaurant is serving a festive, locally-inspired dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 5:00 – 9:00 PM. Reservations for these dinners are highly recommended.

Enjoy fireside s’mores all week long with daily S’mores Cookouts at 4:00 PM December 26th – 30th in the Lincoln Peak courtyard, and 3:30 PM on December 27th, 28th and 30th at the Mt Ellen base area.

Holiday Race Camps will be in full swing Monday, December 26th to Friday, December 30th. The Junior Holiday Race Camp is for racers ages 7-12 to connect with coaches and further develop their technique as skiers and riders. The High School Holiday Race Camp is geared toward high school racing in the Northeast with an emphasis on technical development in and out of the gates.

Sugarbush Resort offers parents a night off on Monday, December 26th and Thursday, December 29th with a Kids Pizza and Movie Night in The Schoolhouse from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

Tuesday, December 27th brings more events for the kids. The Parks crew and freestyle coaches will introduce kids 13 and under to freestyle skiing and riding with games and prizes at Gathering of the Groms from 4:30 – 6:00 PM at the Lincoln Peak base area.  Children are also invited to enjoy a hands-on culinary experience with a Kid’s Cooking Class – Taste of Italy in Vermont on Tuesday, December 27th or Friday, December 30th, starting at 5:30 PM in the Schoolhouse.

Wednesday, December 28th brings a wide variety of events starting with a guided Photography Outback Tour at 10:00 AM in Slide Brook. Warm up and boogie down at the Blizzard Boogie with a live DJ at 3:00 PM in Gate House Courtyard. For those not into snow dancing, pop into Castlerock Pub for a Mad River Distillers Tasting from 3:00 – 6:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday for a free sampling of whiskey. In the evening, head to The Schoolhouse for the VINS Large Birds of Prey Performance at 4:00 PM. Later that night, guests can join in for a glass of wine and an evening of creativity at a Paint and Sip event in the Gate House Sleeper Room from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

On the 29th, guests can enjoy Tracking the Wild Coomba, a presentation in Gate House Lodge at 6:00 PM. Robert Cocuzzo presents on his book and his adventures following Doug Coombs’ tracks around the world.

The fun continues on Friday, December 30th, with the Kids Torchlight Parade at 4:00 PM and a Film Screening and Social with John Egan in the Gate House Mountain View Room at 7:00 PM.

Returning for a seventh New Year’s Eve, the Annual Dog Parade and Canine Couture Contest invites dog owners to strut their mutt through the Gate House Courtyard at 3:30 PM, with proceeds benefitting PAWSitive Pantry. That evening, enjoy a Family Italian Buffet at 6:00 PM with live music. After dinner, find your favorite spot to watch the New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade and Fireworks, which kick off at 7:00 PM. Ring in the New Year at Castlerock Pub with the Detonators performing live from 9:00 PM – midnight.
