Champlain and Sugarbush Resort Host Day of Wellness

WARREN, Vt. - Champlain College and Sugarbush Resort will host a day of recreation and learning to promote health and wellness. The one-day excursion, called 'Healthy Mind. Healthy Body. Healthy Spirit.' gathers professors, recreational leaders and business professionals at Sugarbush Resort on Saturday, Feb. 23.

The program includes optional educational seminars, mountain activities, dining, cocktail hour, and lodging at Clay Brook Hotel at Sugarbush Resort.

The day's itinerary will include:

  • Complimentary morning ski with Win Smith, president of Sugarbush Resort
  • Lincoln Limo Cat skiing ($75, reservation required)
  • Mountain winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding at Sugarbush, cross-country skiing at Ole’s Cross Country Center
  • Yoga and fitness activities at the Sugarbush Health & Racquet Club
  • Opportunities to enjoy local shopping in the Mad River Valley and beyond
  • East Shore Vineyards wine tasting
  • Two evening seminars including ‘Baby Dolls, Bone Gangs, and Wild Indians,’ a seminar about global festivals colliding in annual Carnival celebrations by Champlain College Professor Steve Wehmeyer; and  ‘Emergent Media, Shifting Paradigms, and Next Gen Thinking’ by Professor Ann DeMarle, director of the Emergent Media Center at Champlain College.
  • Cocktail hour featuring wines and artisanal cheeses of Vermont
  • Dinner with remarks by Win Smith and Betsy Beaulieu, dean of the Core Division at Champlain College
  • Music and presentation by Ann Strubler, Detroit Symphony Orchestra emeritus violinist. Introduction by Dave Strubler, dean, Stiller School of Business at Champlain College.

Evening activities, including the seminar, cocktail hour, four-course dinner, and musical performance is $50 per person. Various lift tickets for skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers can be purchased for both Saturday and Sunday. As part of the package, there is 30 percent discount for lodging at either Clay Brook Hotel or Resort Condos. Children's supervised activities are available in the morning and afternoon on the day of the event.
