8th Annual Dog Parade Highlights 63 Events for Sugarbush Presidents’ Week
Warren, VT (February 13, 2018) – Sugarbush Resort has over 60 events planned for the upcoming Presidents’ Week. The fun lasts from Friday, February 16th through Sunday, February 25th.
Festivities kick off with Firkin Fridays & Raw Bar in Castlerock Pub Friday evening with cask-conditioned beer from a Vermont brewery along with a raw bar.
Saturday, February 17th boasts a full day of events starting with a Tesla Test Drive from 10 AM – 6 PM at Lincoln Peak (also on Sunday). A Gadd Brook Open House with Moosewalk Studio & Gallery runs from 2 – 5 PM in Gadd Brook Unit 107. A local artisan market will be in Rumble’s Kitchen both Saturday and Sunday from 12 – 6 PM. Kids can enjoy Gathering of the Groms at 4:30 PM with the Sugarbush Parks crew teaching smart style and playing games, as well as a Kids Cooking Class: Dragons Love Tacos from 5:30 – 7:30 in The Schoolhouse. At 7:00 PM spectators are welcome to enjoy a fireworks display and torchlight parade on Spring Fling, followed by Late Night Music featuring Prydein in Castlerock Pub.
On Sunday, February 18th the day starts with the Dog-friendly Snowshoe Tour at 9:45 at Mt. Ellen. Local distillery Mad River Distillers will be sampling their wares outside of Castlerock Pub from 2 – 5 PM. Kids can participate in the Kids Torchlight Parade with Murphy Moose at 4:30 or enjoy Kids Pizza and Movie Night from 5 – 8 PM featuring Cars 3 and Leap.
The Blizzard Boogie, an outdoor party with live DJ in the Gate House Courtyard starts at 3 PM on Monday. That evening, John Egan will host a Film Screening and Social in the Gate House Lodge, sharing some of his favorite moments from his ski career.
Tuesday, February 20th is highlighted by VINS Large Birds of Prey Performance. The birds of prey exhibit starts at 4:00 PM in The Schoolhouse.
Wednesday night hosts another Kids Cooking Class: Night of the Veggie Monster at 5:30 PM in The Schoolhouse.
Stone Cutter Distillery will be hosting tastings outside Castlerock Pub from 2 – 5 PM on Thursday, February 22nd. From 6 – 8 PM guests can enjoy a Paint & Sip event in the Gate House Lodge. Also at 6 PM is Fly Fishing in Vermont: Presentation & Fly-Tying Demo with the movie Red Gold, fly-tying lessons and more.
On Friday, February 23rd another Firkin Fridays & Raw Bar kicks off in Castlerock Pub at 5:00 PM. From 6:00 – 8:00 PM, ski fans can enjoy Warren Miller’s Line of Descent Film Screening, the latest Warren Miller ski film.
A Gadd Brook Open House with Lawson’s Finest Liquids from 2 – 5 PM starts off events on Saturday, February 24th. The Cowbell Champagne Party, an annual tradition in the Green Mountain Lounge at Mt. Ellen, starts at 3:00 PM. The 8th Annual Dog Parade & Canine Couture Contest begins at 3:30 PM in the Lincoln Peak Courtyard with donations benefitting PAWSitive Pantry. That night, another Kids Pizza & Movie Night features Smurf’s: The Lost Village and Despicable Me 3 in The Schoolhouse.
Finally, Sunday, February 25th finishes off the festivities with another Dog-Friendly Guided Snowshoe Tour at Mt. Ellen starting at 9:45 AM.
There are several recurring events throughout the week as well. Twilight Snowshoe Tours and Sunset Groomer Rides are available daily, as well as Cabin Cat Sunrise First Tracks (weather permitting). S’Mores Cookouts will be at 2:30 PM at both mountains on 2/17-2/19, 2/21, and 2/24-2/25. In addition to the specialty open houses, Gadd Brook Open Houses are offered daily. Live après music can be found in bars around the mountain on both weekends.
