When I see the school buses on the roads again, I know that winter is not far behind.
In fact, we will hopefully be firing up our snowmaking guns at both mountains in a little over 60 days. These past few nights have been great sleeping weather, with temperatures falling into the 40’s and rebounding back to the 60’s during the day. And, the color is definitely beginning to appear on the trees.
We had a really busy summer despite the cooler, wet weather. Fall (technically not here until September 21st, though the thermometer says otherwise) continues to be busy, with weddings every weekend right into November. Our daily mountain activities cease after Labor Day, but will be open each weekend through Columbus Day. Of course, the golf course stays open right through October, if possible, and autumn is my favorite time to play. Teeing off on the seventh hole or lunching on the patio of Hogan’s may offer some of the best views of foliage in the entire state.
