Sugarbush, We Love You!

Frank and Mary Ann Duke include their three children, four grandchildren, and three grand-pets when they talk about their family and shared enthusiasm for being homeowners at Sugarbush.  Their grandchildren started in the mini-bears ski program and can now ski anything on the mountain: steeps, bumps, and trees included.  The Duke’s children, grandkids, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins are all frequent visitors to the Mad River Valley and have enjoyed everything from skiing to cake baking sessions at King Arthur Flour.

Except for mud season and stick season, the Dukes visit Sugarbush year round.  In the winter, of course, they ski and Frank is grateful for the super-senior pass.  The rest of the year they spend sightseeing and hiking.  They enjoy playing tour guide for their family and friends, tailoring the activities to their interests. They always get to the Waitsfield Farmers Market on Saturdays and have made many trips to Ben and Jerry’s, Burlington, Montpelier, and Middlebury. They always enjoy Vermont Festival of the Arts in the summer and dining around the various restaurants in the valley. They have also visited some other large ski area north of us, but find them “not as friendly and welcoming as Sugarbush!”

“The staff of Sugarbush is truly a second family to us.  We are saddened when we learn of someone leaving.  When the owner is a daily skier, you know the skiing is super.  We enjoy meeting Win in every venue of the resort.   What a surprise to see him being a liftie!  Sugarbush, we love you!”
