Whether your family is a group of seasoned mountain veterans or this is your first trip to the mountains, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley have something special to offer - our natural mountain assets and location in the Valley create the perfect playground for your family. In the winter, it begins with our terrain. Recognized for the best terrain in the East we offer some of the best wooded & gladed skiing to sun-soaked cruisers & corduroy. Our top-ranked Sugarbush Adventure Learning Center, led by renowned adventure skier John Egan and his team of professionals have built programs for every ability level and age group. We also have a full schedule of events all season long – from kid favorite “big air” competitions to the traditional spring pondskimming, there is always something to see or join! If nordic skiing is your passion, try Ole’s Cross Country Center in Warren, or head out on the Catamount Trail which crosses through Sugarbush at the golf course. Looking for something other than skiing or riding? Stop by Guest Services and pick up a map of the snowshoe trails in and around the resort.
If not every member of your family is an outdoor enthusiast, Sugarbush has a multitude of activities going on inside. Ross Greene, head tennis pro at the Sugarbush Health and Racquet Club, is ready to work on your game or put a racquet in your kids’ hands for the first time. The Health Club also has a full line of weights and cardio equipment, an indoor pool, spa, sauna, steam room, and a rock-climbing gym to keep you busy all day long. Need some inspiration? Try one of the many regularly scheduled classes from yoga to swimming to toning. Or perhaps a bit of relaxation? A full staff of massage therapists stands ready to put you in the right frame of mind. Off the mountain, the villages of Warren and Waitsfield have many fine boutiques and galleries that reflect a varied and rich local artistic tradition. Covered bridges, church steeples, and numerous country inns – the Mad River Valley is an authentic Vermont community.
The fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. We have fun activities and programs designed specifically for kids so mom and dad can relax over a quiet dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in the Mad River Valley. We also offer groomer rides (better than any amusement ride!), moonlight snowshoe tours and holiday activities for the whole family. Most restaurants have kids menus and the dress is always casual in the Valley.
At Sugarbush, we recognize families come here to relax, have fun, and further excel at what they love doing, including spending quality time together. We’ve got options for every taste, whether your choice is to do everything together or to "divide and conquer". We’re ready when you are. A family vacation at Sugarbush, is anything but average.
