Fresh Tracks Film Camp

Fresh Tracks Film Camp at Sugarbush offers teenage skiers and riders the opportunity to take their passion for film-making onto the mountain. John Egan, former Warren Miller film star and Sugarbush’s Chief Recreation Officer, begins by taking participants on a morning fresh tracks adventure where he will introduce the technique of capturing action-packed video footage. Egan will lead the group to some of his favorite Sugarbush trails in pursuit of great shots. Students then head indoors, where Kevin Murakami, from the award winning Emergent Media program at Champlain College, shows them how to transform their mountain experience into a short film. In three days, students will come away with a polished short.

Campers will need:

  • Laptop computer with Adobe Premiere Pro (along with A/C adapter/charger)
  • GoPro camera(s) (with batteries, memory cards, cables, and any accessories)
  • Flash memory drive (not essential, but ultimately very helpful)

Fresh Tracks Film Camp at Sugarbush is offered on three consecutive Saturdays from 7:30AM-12:00PM.

  • Saturday, January 25th
  • Saturday, February 1st
  • Saturday, February 8th

A reception featuring the students’ finished short films will be held on the evening of Saturday, February 8th at 6:00PM in the Gate House Lodge at Sugarbush.
