If you want to go fast safely, Race Blazers is your program! Race Blazers is a non-competitive program that uses race training to develop solid technical skiing skills. Those skills will form the foundation necessary to ski our entire mountain with confidence and open the doors for a ton of fun at Sugarbush!
Race Blazers meet every Saturday and Sunday from 9:15 AM (with a 9:30 AM departure) until 3:00 PM, December 14, 2013 to March 23, 2014. Race Blazers are encouraged to attend every session to maximize fun, learning and group consistency.
Race Blazers are required to use a hard shell, race-specific helmet meeting FIS requirements. All participants also are required to wear an approved spine protector such as the (such as the POC Spine Ergo protector) while gate training. Our local retailers can assist in finding the appropriate equipment.
If you do not already own a pair of race GS skis, it is a good idea to purchase a pair. Race skis are more stable at higher speeds and provide better edge grip on hard surfaces, making them safer and more effective in race conditions.
SKI RACING SAFETY IS NO ACCIDENT. For more information on ski racing safety check out the Kelley Brush Foundation.
