Mt. Ellen Snow Blazers is the ultimate way for kids to grow into all-mountain skiers here in at Mount Ellen, Sugarbush's highest peak. In the capable hands of our coaches, Mt. Ellen Blazers develop the skills necessary to explore Mount Ellen's trails, terrain park, bumps, and woods and build the foundation for a lifelong love of skiing.
Snow Blazers meets every Saturday and Sunday from 9:15 AM (with a 9:30 AM departure) until 3:00 PM. The program runs from December 14, 2013 through March 23, 2014. Snow Blazers are encouraged to attend every session to maximize learning and group consistency.
Snow Blazers must be linking turns with confidence on green terrain access off of chair lifts and be able to ride a chair lift unassisted. Skiers should be moving with the terrain and not skiing defensively in a wedge. Participation on one of the first two weekends in December greatly assists our coaches in establishing groups that will work well together and have have a blast together for the remainder of the season.
Specific activities for each group vary based on ability level, goals and conditions. Mt. Ellen Blazers can expect to spend time cruising the famed groomers, exploring the extensive wooded terrain, playing in the park, and banging the bumps. Occasional snowboarding instruction may be available to groups that wish to add them to their mountain skills.
All Mt. Ellen Blazers must have at least a Sugarbush Mt. Ellen season pass.
