John Egan is more than a famous Warren Miller film star, he is a gifted coach and an exceptional mountain guide, and his Bush Pilots is the best way to get access to the goods on our mountain. His philosophy "If you can ski here, you can ski anywhere" is at the heart of this program and takes advantage of Sugarbush's incomparable big-mountain terrain. Even the most world-traveled expert skiers enjoy using Bush Pilots to get ready for their next skiing adventure, whether it's across the Valley or across the globe.
Meeting every Saturday from December 14, 2013 to March 22, 2014 from 9:45AM to 2:00PM, Bush Pilots is a seasonal program unique on the American ski scene. Take the incomparable big-mountain and wilderness terrain available at Sugarbush, sprinkle in fresh snow, add and his team of the finest Sugarbush pros, and you end up thigh deep in the best expert coaching this side of Chamonix.
Bush Pilots participants must be expert skiers of 18+ years in good physical condition who ski aggressively on black diamond or double black diamond terrain. This group is fast-paced and demanding, with lift-rides often being the only reprieve. Bush Pilots must have a Sugarbush All Mountain Pass and are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible so as not to miss out on any adventures or guest coaches. With so many world-class skiers and coaches living near or visiting Sugarbush, you never know who might show up.
As group interest dictates, additional early morning or late afternoon adventures may be planned. Participants should be well equipped with fat skis, good bindings (alpine, randonèe, or telemark) and should seriously consider backpacks with food, water, backcountry gear, and extra layers.
Minimum 20 participants. Maximum 28 participants.
