At Sugarbush, we know that once you get the feel for sliding on snow, you'll be hooked. And to help you discover your soon-to-be new love, we're offering the First Timer to Life Timer program. The program package includes:
Our First Timer Package is a three-lesson series for those who have never tried skiing or riding. Package includes guidance on specially designed beginner equipment, and lessons take you from booting up to skating and gliding, and making first turns to using lifts. This program puts the fun into learning to ski or ride.
The National Ski Areas Association predicts skier/rider visits could plunge to 40 million by 2019, down from a high of 60 million just two years ago. One of the main reasons: fewer than 2% of those who try skiing and riding for the first time return to the slopes. And if that prediction comes true, skiing and riding will be changed (for the worse) forever. But we think we can reverse this trend.
At Sugarbush, we know that once you get the feel for sliding on snow, you’ll be hooked. And to help you discover your soon-to-be new love, we're offering the new First Timer to Life Timer program.

Yes—the pass is FREE!** And because we want you to Be Better Here, on your sixth visit back to Sugarbush, you will also be entitled to one FREE group lesson.

The months of January, February and March are usually the best time of year to take a First Timer Lesson. November, December and April can be good, but Mother Nature rules, and sometimes snow conditions do not permit beginner lessons. If you are thinking of taking a First Timer Lesson early or late season, we recommend that you first call our reservations desk at 888.651.4827 to get specific information about conditions of our beginner terrain.
Important! On many occasions people will come to take their first lessons with gear that just is not appropriate. We will look over your equipment. If in our best judgment, we feel that your equipment is going to hinder your progress or is unsafe, we will ask that you rent equipment from our rental shop.
If you have a lift ticket and gear that is appropriate and safe for you, you can take any of our First-Timer lessons for $55.
Classes will not be held for late arrivals, as this is not fair to the people who have made the effort to arrive on time. If you are late, we will make an effort to put you in the proper group, but this can be difficult. You may have to come back and take a later lesson.
