Sugarbush Ski & Ride School Announces Opening Weekend of Programs

Warren, VT (December 3, 2013) – Sugarbush’s Ski & Ride School announces the opening weekend of its programs on Saturday, December 7 at the resort’s Lincoln Peak base area. With ample early snowfall and cold temperatures allowing for substantial snowmaking, Sugarbush has the terrain and conditions that will allow their instructors to teach skiers and riders of all levels and ages from the opening bell.

After a busy Thanksgiving weekend for the resort, Ski & Ride School instructors and students are benefitting from the resort’s off-season investments in snowmaking and grooming.

“It’s an exciting time for all of us at the resort,” says Russ Kauff, Director of the Sugarbush Ski & Ride School. “One look at the crowds both in the jib park in the base area and on the beginner hill shows the incredible range of guests we’re now seeing at Sugarbush. There’s a real sense of excitement around the resort, and it presents a great opportunity for us to build on our legendary past and continue to make our mark as a school.”

The Sugarbush Ski & Ride School is unique in the industry for the range of its programs. Their season-long programs in particular include a unique array of programs for adults – not just the more typical every-weekend programs for kids. Their flagship Bush Pilots program, spearheaded by John Egan and taught by big-mountain pros, and their Essential Elements range of programs, taught by elite level PSIA instructors, help set the school apart. According to Kauff, “It’s a luxury to operate a school where so many of our guests focus their time and energy on learning. It really sets a welcoming and forward-looking tone for our resort.”

The Sugarbush Ski & Ride School opens for group and private lesson programs for all ages of adults and children on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Valley Ski and Ride Week, the East Coast’s last remaining traditional ski week-style program, runs from December 16 – 20, 2013, and the resort’s Mount Ellen base area, including a selection of Ski & Ride School programs, opens on Saturday, December 21.
