Sugarbush Resort Golf Club Pro Roger King 2nd Overall in Vermont PGA
Warren, VT (September 19, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort Golf Club PGA Pro Roger King is currently in second place in the Vermont PGA Player of the Year Points Race with 168.1 points. Since May, King has placed in the top ten in eight of the nine Vermont PGA tournaments.
This is King’s second season with Sugarbush Resort Golf Club. Prior to this, he served as General Manager at Barre Country Club for fourteen years. King served as VTPGA Tournament Committee Chairman from 2011 – 2015, and is currently serving as the VTPGA President.
Earlier this summer, King, along with Sugarbush colleagues Rob Schonder and John Parsons, and Valley resident Justin Beckwith, won the Vermont PGA Pro-Am at the Rutland Club Championship. This doubled as a qualifier for the New England Pro-Am Championship qualifier. The team will go to Mohegan Sun with 19 other teams, half of which represent the New England PGA (including Sugarbush) and the other half from the Metropolitan PGA. On Saturday, September 26th, the team will play a practice round of golf in preparation for the tournament on Sunday, September 27th.
