Sugarbush Promotes Safety at Valley Elementary Schools

Warren, VT (December 6, 2016) – Sugarbush Resort is working with local elementary schools to help promote skier/rider safety on the mountain.

The presentations will utilize a number of different tools and demonstrations including favorite mascot Murphy Moose. Sugarbush’s terrain park staff will give a demonstration on how to approach and enjoy the park safely. Ski patrol, fully dressed in gear, will give a demonstration on how they respond to injuries with Murphy Moose playing the role of a hurt skier. There will also be a safety talk on helmet usage, a safety video, a poster competition, and more.

“We’ve wanted to get this program started for the last few years and are excited to move forward,” said Amber Broadaway, Risk Manager at Sugarbush Resort. “We want to continue to build a connection between Sugarbush and local schools and we’re excited to have the opportunity to help educate kids on skiing and riding safely.”

The resort already presented at Fayston Elementary on December 7th with additional presentations scheduled for Warren Elementary on December 12th, Moretown Elementary on December 21st and Waitsfield Elementary at a to be determined date.
