Sugarbush Resort Presented Certificate of Recognition for  Governor’s Award for Outstanding Workplace Safety

Warren, VT (October 7, 2015) –Last week, Governor Peter Shumlin and the Vermont Department of Labor presented Sugarbush Resort with a Certificate of Recognition for the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Workplace Safety. The award is given by the State of Vermont to recognize an employer’s commitment to excellence in workplace safety and health.

“We’re very proud to have been recognized for this,” said Win Smith, President of Sugarbush Resort. “The safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority, and we’re glad to see our efforts paying off.”

The Vermont Department of Labor announced recipients of the award during the Vermont Safety and Health Council Expo at Killington Resort on October 1st. Sugarbush was the only ski area recognized for safety at this year’s conference.

The Governor’s office has sponsored the annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Award since 2005. The award includes small, medium, and large businesses of all types around the state. Sugarbush previously won the Certificate of Recognition for Worksite Wellness in 2014, as well as the Worksite Wellness Award in 2015.

The resort is currently seeking employees in a variety of departments—from snowmaking to housekeeping—to prepare for their winter season. All open positions are posted on their website at www.sugarbush.com. A winter job fair will be held on Thursday, November 5th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in The Schoolhouse at Lincoln Peak.
