Sugarbush Incentivizes Landlords to Provide Affordable Housing
Warren, VT (August 28, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort has unveiled a new program, Tenants for Turns, that incentivizes local landowners to supply affordable housing to resort employees.
Tenants for Turns was developed by several Western ski resorts, including Jackson Hole and Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, who have all identified affordable housing issues in their communities. The program creates a mutually beneficial relationship for resort employees and local landlords.
The program is designed to suggest an affordable rent to property owners based on the surrounding rental market and employee salaries. In return, Sugarbush is offering participating landowners either ten ski vouchers, or a $100 season pass or a Family Pass to the Sugarbush Health and Recreation Center (SHaRC) for the winter season.
Landlords are encouraged to fill out an application to get their rental unit on the list that Human Resources provides to employees looking for housing in the Mad River Valley.
