Sugarbush Hires New Director of Children’s Winter Programs
Warren, VT (August 20, 2010)
Lifetime Valley resident Melanie Hall has recently been appointed Director of Children’s Winter Programs at Sugarbush Resort. With over 15 years of experience working with children and 8 years previous employment in the Sugarbush Day Care and Micro Bear programs, Melanie is very excited about the opportunity to establish a stronger relationship with the skiing community here. Melanie’s love for skiing and working with children stems from a strong history of growing up in the Valley where skiing was a way of life. From the age of 3, Melanie remembers watching her father teach skiing with both humor and grace. “I just remember people always laughing. . .and at the end of the day walking away feeling like they actually got it,” says Melanie about her father Dick Hall, founder of North American Telemark Organization. “This is something I will never forget and I really hope to bring with me into this new position.”
Not only did Melanie grow up in the ski industry, she has worked many years for a number of highly accredited child-care facilities in the area, including The Cricket Club at Mad River Glen, Stepping Stones Day School in Waitsfield, and most extensively The Sugarbush Day School where she had been assisting the director there with many of the supervisory tasks. One of Melanie’s greatest joys has been watching the children of both the Mountain and the Valley grow and become confident and amazing little people. She hopes that along with the new children’s Schoolhouse at Sugarbush, will come the opportunity for new and positive energy to mix with many of the wonderful people who have been part of the ski school in the past. Melanie looks forward to maintaining a successful; quality children’s program where both children and their families are always supported and encouraged and where fun and learning are never dismissed.
