Sugarbush Employees Dominate Various Athletic Competitions

Warren, VT (October 6, 2015) – Sugarbush Resort has several employees who recently performed well at a variety of athletic competitions across the country.

Audrey Huffman, Graphic Designer in the marketing department, finished first in the female category and 14th overall in the O2X Summit Series at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire last weekend. Over 550 people competed in the race, which saw racers ascend Loon Mountain through various natural obstacles and trails. Huffman’s time was 1:13:09.

Kevin Babic, Chief Administrative Officer, recently qualified and competed in the Spartan Race World Championships at Squaw Valley, California. He qualified for the competition by placing in the top five at the Spartan Elite Super Race at Mountain Creek, New Jersey on September 12th,  his second elite-level race in obstacle-course racing. He also finished 6th overall and 1st in the Masters division at the Spartan Elite Beast Race at Killington on September 20th. Babic suffered an injury during the Championships last weekend, but still managed to finish the race, placing 207th.

Candice White, Vice President of Communications and Brand, swam a 5k race in the Lake George (NY) Open Water Swim on August 29th. White finished first in her division—female, wetsuit—and 15th overall. Her time was 1:37:44.

Sugarbush Resort received a Governor’s Award for Worksite Wellness this past February for their dedication to health and wellness in the workplace. All employees benefit from the Health and Wellness program at the resort, receiving free and discounted services including skiing/riding, golf, mountain biking, and use of the Health and Recreation Center. The resort also offers a series of “Lunch and Learn” programs for their employees—hour-long wellness classes in disciplines including yoga, downhill skiing, walking, and healthy-living.

The resort is currently looking to build their staff for the winter season, seeking positions in administration, base area operations, food and beverage, lodging, ski school, housekeeping, and mountain operations.
