Kelly Brush of Kelly Brush Foundation to Ski at Sugarbush on Sunday

02/16/2017

Warren, VT (February 16, 2017) – Sugarbush Resort is teaming up with the Kelly Brush Foundation to host a “Ski with Kelly Day” at Lincoln Peak on Sunday, February 26th. Brush will be monoskiing with KBF supporters and Vermont Adaptive skiers throughout the day.

The event includes two scheduled group skis with Kelly-- one at 10 AM at the top of Lincoln Peak’s Gate House Lift, and another at 1:30 PM at the top of Super Bravo Express Quad.  At noon, Vermont Adaptive will offer a Monoski Clinic for anyone who wants to see what it’s like skiing in a monoski on the Welcome Mat beginner area at Lincoln Peak. Sugarbush President Win Smith plans to try out a monoski himself.

“It’s incredibly inspiring to see athletes like Kelly come back from an injury and continue to live life to the fullest,” Smith commented. “We want to support organizations like the Kelly Brush Foundation and Vermont Adaptive, as well as High Fives, who are all devoting incredible time and resources to helping others discover or rediscover their passion for the outdoors.”

An afternoon après event in Timbers Restaurant will conclude the day’s activities. A raffle prize winner for a Mad River Valley Getaway will be selected at the gathering. The Getaway includes an overnight stay at the Mad River Barn, dinner at Tucker Hill Inn, a Cabot Cheese gift basket, and day passes to the Bridges Resort and Sugarbush Resort. Vermont Adaptive and Kelly Brush Foundation will have a presence throughout the day in the Courtyard at Lincoln Peak.

The Kelly Brush Foundation is a Vermont-based organization named after Kelly, a GMVS and Middlebury College graduate who sustained a spinal cord injury in an NCAA alpine ski race. Her foundation serves two missions: to help prevent injuries in ski racing, and to help people thrive by incorporating sports and recreation into their lifestyle. Sugarbush has been a sponsor of the Kelly Brush Foundation for many years, as a sponsor of the annual Kelly Brush Ride each September, and of their Inspire! Vermont and Inspire!Boston fundraisers.
