January is Learn to Ski and Ride Month at Sugarbush Resort

Warren, VT January 4, 2012 – Sugarbush Resort kicks off Learn to Ski and Ride Month this week, offering a $29 first timer lesson, as well as an award-winning First Timer to Life Timer 3-lesson program.

As part of a national effort to increase participation in skiing and snowboarding Sugarbush Resort is teaming up with Ski Vermont, an industry association, to offer ski and ride lessons for as low as $29.

The $29 first timer lesson is a two-hour group lesson that includes rentals, instruction, and a lift ticket, offered every day during the month of January except Martin Luther King holiday weekend. Sugarbush's First Timer to Life Timer Program offers three consecutive group lessons including rentals, instruction, and a lift ticket, followed by a FREE All-Mountain Season Pass --a $1,569 value-- to those who complete the program. The First Timer to Life Timer program is offered throughout the season, but during the month of January, the $255 price is lower when combined with the $29 first timer lesson.

“We know that once our guests feel the excitement of sliding on snow, they'll be hooked. And there is no age limit to this program—we’ve had twenty-year olds and 70-year olds become Sugarbush First Timers to Life Timers,” said Sugarbush Director of Adventure Learning John Egan. Egan adds, “There’s no better New Year’s resolution than learning a new outdoor activity.”

With private and group lessons and specialty clinics including park, freestyle and unconventional terrain, the Adventure Learning Center at Sugarbush, offers instruction to any level of skier and rider. To learn more about ski and ride lessons at Sugarbush, visit sugarbush.com or call 800.53.SUGAR.
