Holiday Week at Sugarbush Resort Boasts Fun for the Whole Family, Even the Dog
Warren, VT (December 16, 2015) – Sugarbush Resort announces a full calendar of events for the upcoming holiday vacation weeks.
The schedule begins on Sunday, December 20th and runs through Sunday, January 3rd. All events are open to the public and many are free to attend.
This Sunday, Dec. 20th, Castlerock Pub hosts an Ugly Sweater Party—wear your tackiest holiday sweater and bring an ornament to hang on the tree while enjoying complimentary appetizers. Monday, December 21st – Wednesday, December 23rd introduce Home For The Holidays--bring in a new, unopened toy for charity to Guest Services at Lincoln Peak and receive $15 off a full day All Mountain Lift Ticket, a free professional photo taken on-mountain, and a free appetizer buffet at Castlerock Pub. Microbrew specials from Otter Creek, Magic Hat, and Switchback will be offered throughout the resort for just $4.50.
The celebrations continue with Mt. Ellen’s $30 Thursday kick-off on Christmas Eve (and running every Thursday at Mt. Ellen except 12/31 and 2/18), and a Christmas Eve Service in Gate House Lodge at 5:00 PM. Timbers Restaurant will host both live music and dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day from 5:30 – 9:00 PM.
Saturday, December 26th features a wide variety of events including a Photography Outback Snowshoe (or Hiking) Tour at 10:00 AM in Slide Brook, Tour De Moon at Mt. Ellen at 4:30 PM (weather permitting), and a Family Gingerbread House Building Workshop at 5:30 PM.

The next day, guests can enjoy a S’Mores Cookout on Gate House Patio with a bonfire starting at 4:00 PM, or head over to The Schoolhouse for the VINS Large Birds of Prey Performance at 4:00 PM.
Monday, December 28th offers guests a chance to experience one of Sugarbush’s new, premiere offerings. The Food and Wine Sampler, from 6:00 – 10:00 PM, brings guests to the top of Gadd Peak for a celebration of Northern Italian food and wine (reservations are required). That same night, kids will enjoy Kid’s Pizza and Movie Night in The Schoolhouse from 5:30 – 8:30 PM. Children can also hone their culinary skills with a Kid’s Cooking Class on Wednesday, December 30th or Friday, January 1st.
Returning for a Sixth New Year’s Eve, the Annual Dog Parade and Canine Couture Contest at 3:30 PM invites dog owners to strut their mutt through the Gate House Courtyard with proceeds benefitting PAWSitive Pantry. Later that night, families can enjoy the Family Italian Dinner from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in Gate House Lodge or an Evening of Dinner and Dancing at Timbers from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. The crowd favorite-- Fireworks and Torchlight Parade-- will kick off at 7:00 PM, with a New Year’s Eve Celebration to follow in Castlerock Pub featuring live music from The Detonators.
New Year’s Day keeps the fun rolling along with another S’Mores Cookout, Kids Torchlight Parade, and Castlerock Pub Raw Bar. Saturday, January 2nd also features Whiskey Night at Castlerock Pub with whiskeys from Appalachian Gap Distillery, Silo, Whistle Pig, and Mad River Distillers (located right down the road in the Mad River Valley).
