Well, summer is officially here and the good or bad news is that the days start getting shorter. I enjoy the early morning light, so I can wake up to a view of the Sugarbush ridgeline from my home in East Warren. And I definitely enjoy the light well after 9:00 PM. With summer here, all of our summer activities at Sugarbush are up and running. Summer in the mountains doesn't last that long, so you definitely want to take advantage of July and August here in the Valley. Right after Labor Day the leaves begin to show their color, if not prior, and before too long our thoughts will be on another ski season.
And speaking of that, the new snowmaking pipe for Snowball and Spring Fling has arrived and the crew will be installing it soon. In addition to all the capital projects I have mentioned in earlier emails, we are also looking at purchasing a couple of hundred new low-energy snow guns to be placed at both Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen. Once we have finalized everything I will share the details with you.
I hope to see many of you at the Fourth of July festivities this weekend.
So what would you expect a former Executive Vice President of Merrill Lynch to do when he retires? Lay low in the islands? Nope. He moves north and works seven days a week right here at Sugarbush. Check out what he's been thinking.
