Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that 2013 is over and we are already moving into 2014. For me this means a new grandchild and future Blazer. It also means the hope for a ton of snow in the months to come.
Mother Nature has been finicky, for sure. We were blessed with excellent early snowmaking weather, and to date we have blown more gallons of water than ever before. This allowed us to get through some dicey weather over the last few weeks. Now we need the real stuff to get Castlerock and other natural trails open as well as the woods. Snow has been in the forecast a couple of times lately but we have been disappointed. Today we are hearing about potential Nor'easters in the coming week, but the forecast is still uncertain at this point. We do know that historically February and March are the snowiest months here at Sugarbush. And with the solid base we have on so many trails, we are expecting a long season and hopefully a lot of spectacular powder mornings.
The second week of the new year is when we will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Mt. Ellen's opening. Make sure to check out our complete schedule of fun and memorable activities and make your plans to be there.
All the best,
So what would you expect a former Executive Vice President of Merrill Lynch to do when he retires? Lay low in the islands? Nope. He moves north and works seven days a week right here at Sugarbush. Check out what he's been thinking.
