As a Leo, how can I not love August? In addition to a birthday, I get to celebrate my and Lili’s fifth anniversary of reconnecting at the Burlington airport, as well as our third wedding anniversary.
This August began with a bang. Playing golf with my two sons last weekend, I was able to witness Cameron's first hole-in-one on the fifth hole of the Sugarbush golf course. For those of you who have played the course, you know that you have to kick over the sand trap on the left side of the green and then watch as the ball runs hard right down the green. Usually a shot like Cameron’s would have been off the green. This time is was a bull's eye into the cup. Many that Sunday afternoon thanked Cameron for the complimentary drinks at Hogan's Pub!
August is busy here in the Mad River Valley, with the Vermont Festival of the Arts offering numerous culinary, theatrical, and artistic events. This year the ever-popular Taste of the Valley is on Sunday, August 10th, with a slightly different format that also features an "Iron Chef" contest. Do take a look at the Festival brochure--I am sure you fill find a number of activities and events that will excite you.
August is also the month we launch our season pass campaign. Early season pass prices are available through September 10th, and this year we are launching two new pass products that we feel will meet the needs of many of our guests. While the warm days are not yet over and our summer activities are in full swing, winter is just over the horizon.
