The last forty-eight hours have delivered us a foot of new snow and we have more in the forecast over the next several days. We are now 100% open! With the Castlerock chair running again, a lot of people got to experience fresh powder there this morning. I skied the woods today, too, and there were some great stashes. More snow is expected overnight and Friday looks like a perfect sunny day on the slopes. The clouds will come back on Saturday and hopefully deliver us a good dump. The weekend forecast has not shaped-up yet, but it looks like we are in for some decent accumulation.
February is ending well. With the 200 inches of natural snow we have already received and a solid base wherever we made snow, the mountain is set-up for some great skiing and riding in March.
I encourage you to try Mt. Ellen this season (if you haven't already). Conditions are great and we are now offering a new Mt. Ellen March Pack -- four day tickets for only $149. March Packs have to be purchased prior to midnight on February 28th and are valid any day during March.
This Sunday is our Randonnee Race, an annual event with Mad River Glen, and conditions have set-up perfectly for it. It is one of the biggest and best races of its kind in the US. If you are not participating, you can watch the race from various vantage points at both Mt. Ellen and Lincoln Peak. You can see the skiers cross the finish line behind Valley House Lodge. Proceeds benefit the Green Mountain Club and you can register here.
Hope to see you out this weekend. It is going to be a good one!
