Winter Welcome - Sugarbush Stoke Exchange

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

The wait is nearly over, Sugarbush opens for the season this week! We've been in a relatively cold weather stretch recently, with single digits already recorded at the summits.

Combined with our new fleet of HKD snowguns, this frozen pattern is allowing us to start the 2013-14 season with top-to-bottom turns at Lincoln Peak. Are your legs ready for non-stop 2400 vertical foot runs?

Opening Day for passholders is Friday, Nov. 22nd! Grand Opening is Nov. 23rd.

The plan currently includes Jester, Allyn's Traverse, Downspout, Lower Downspout and Coffee Run, with a chance for Organgrinder, especially by the end of the weekend. Sunday is supposed to be quite chilly, plan for full winter conditions.

The Sugarbush Parks team is also installing the Hollywood Park near Valley House Lodge. Whether you are a rail rider or spectator, their work is always worth a look.

Be sure to check the Snow Report for updated lift, trail, ticket and weather information.

Many thanks to everyone who joined us for the Big Kicker last weekend. The rail jam, slide show, High Fives, Flyin Ryan and Sherpa movies were all awesome, and the party raged late into the night.

This weekend, the party will be in the Castlerock Pub, hosted by everyone's favorite bartender and hop connoisseur, Shawn. You may have forgotten how extensive our beer selection is, so here is a reminder. Castlerock Pub has the best beer collection of any ski area bar in the country.

The weekend weather looks good, with a chance of snow on Friday and Sunday, and partly sunny on Saturday. Cold temps continue next week and the ropes should be steadily dropping as we lay down fresh cover. We are already blowing on the Welcome Mat and will be expanding terrain and lifts as quickly as possible.

Thanksgiving is next week too, so consider spending the extra time off with family at Sugarbush. Timbers will take care of the turkey dinner and clean-up, you just worry about the fun and frolic.

You know that feeling you've got right now ... restless legs, wandering mind, too much adrenaline to be contained in an office? There is only one cure. Join us for the start of our favorite season this weekend!
