Sugarbush is in the middle of one of our best winter starts, with a wide variety of terrain open already. We are top-to-bottom, with everything from our classic steep trails to comfortable beginner routes. Sugarbush Parks has developed a sweet set-up in the base area Hollywood Park and the entire mountain is coated in a solid natural snow base layer.
Trails for all abilities = smiles! Private lessons available for everyone.
Today's warm-up will be short-lived and we expect any precip to change to snow overnight. The weather cycle of rain transitioning to snow has been repeating recently, which has allowed us to use both the 1st and 2nd Primary Aphorisms of Eastern Snow. For those unfamiliar with these nuggets of wisdom, they are, "It's good for the base" and "Net gain." Feel free to chant these sayings next time it gets warm.
Nice days this week.
Looking ahead, we enter a potentially stormy stretch next week and beyond. December can often deliver surprisingly plentiful powder, so keep checking the Snow Report for updates. You don't want to miss any big dumps.
Make plans to join us on Saturday, December 7th for the SugarBash, our annual birthday party. The Grift will be providing the tunes, we've got tasty refreshments and a hotly contested vintage costume comp, plus more fun. Time to break out the stretch pants!
We've got another important party around the corner too, the 50th anniversary Mount Ellen celebration is January 9th-12th. It's a big birthday year throughout the Mad River Valley, Sugarbush also turns 55, and Mad River Glen hits 65. That's 170 years of combined ski history.
Happy 65th, MRG!
Sugarbush Parks rocks.
Candace and Two Shawns on Lincoln Peak.
Jester is looking good.
Sunset from Moretown yesterday.
The parties are warming up, the temps are cooling down and the mountain is in sweet shape. Better be here this weekend!
