Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Love is in the air at Sugarbush, and thankfully, so is the snow. After Nemo's dump last weekend, flurries have persisted this week, yielding a few inches of refreshment. We expect another dose to start tonight and continue into Saturday morning.
Some forecasters have stated that we are in a "pipeline of storms" for the next two weeks. Indeed, there are disturbances predicted every few days, which each one having the possibility of delivering significant snows.
The President's Holiday Week celebrations are also poised to start, and we have a huge list of events approaching. From on-snow adventures to fine food and art, the fun never stops.
One of the coolest happenings is All About Bacon, with Executive Chef Gerry Nooney on February 22nd. Coincidentally, the rescheduled Mad River Valley Randonnee Race is February 24th. Fuel up on bacon and then burn it off in the race!
Looking beyond the upcoming holidays, there is still time to sign up and get pledges for the High Fives Fat Ski-athon at Mount Ellen on March 3rd. High Fives is a non-profit started by local hero Roy Tuscany, who sustained a life-changing spinal injury several years ago.
Based in California, but with a strong Mad River Valley satellite office at the VT North Ski Shop, High Fives helps athletes recover from traumatic accidents, among other great programs. This will be a true fun-draiser, with lots of great prizes and personalities. Ski you there!
