Last night, I lay in bed listening to unfrozen precip pound on the metal roof. It was not a pleasant sound, but I knew that higher on the mountain, it had to be snow.
Sugarbush's elevation has been a savior this winter. There is only a little bit of accumulated base at the parking lot level, but just a little bit up from there, it's a totally different story. In fact, walking in this morning, there was no hint of new snow. By the bottom of Stein's though, there was already a few inches.
While we have been subsisting on small, but regular, snowfalls, we have also been hoping for some big dumps. So far, it was just hope, but with 3-5" last night, 4-8" predicted for tomorrow and another 1-3" on Saturday, the wait may be over.

Clearly, the outlook is bright for the weekend, but this week's review is really strong too. We enjoyed incredible turns and weather this past weekend, including some sweet runs in Slide Brook. Caution is still the name of the game in the woods, although with each addition of snow, they get cleaner and smoother.

The Cabin Cat was out a few times earlier this week, and is well worth checking into for tomorrow and the weekend. There is nothing like standing at the top, with tons of fresh snow below and only a few friends to share it. As Egan says, "Cabin Cat, sometimes it's awesome, sometimes it's awesomer."

Without jinxing it, the extended forecast already has two more storms with measurable snow for next week. But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let's enjoy the great weekend in store. We've got a ton of fun events scheduled, plus some of the best conditions of the season.
We hope to see you soon!
