Happy New Year! Sugarbush rang in 2014 with snowy cold and there are flakes flying right now, in fact. While we haven't had any major dumps yet, each accumulation is adding to the base. We were even able to re-open some natural snow trails, including Bravo, Exterminator and Spillsville.
While we could talk about weather all day, the real story this week is Mt. Ellen's golden 50th Anniversary. Although she is the youngest of the Valley's three alpine ski areas, she is also the tallest with the biggest vertical drop, and some contend, the friendliest of the bunch.
Happy 50th to Mt. Ellen!
The party starts next Thursday, January 9th, with $6.50 Mt. Ellen lift tickets, the original 1963 price. The celebration ramps up from there, with old school fun for all ages through Sunday, January 12th. Break out your tartan plaid and join us for the festivities!
2013-2014 Sugarbush Magazine has a full Mt. Ellen retrospective.
