While the first Nor'easter of the year has mostly missed us, the mountains have been getting snow this week. The temps have been really cold the last few mornings too. Nothing is so invigorating as breathing in that first truly bracing winter air. Anticipation is high for a long fun season.
Eye on the sky.
Opening Day is still scheduled for next weekend, but mid-week weather may put a crimp in plans. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, the famous Waitsfield PTA Ski and Skate Sale is this weekend. If you are looking for winter gear, it can be bargain heaven.
The serious shoppers line up very early, but the initial grab and go frenzy quickly settles into a quiet hum. Prices automatically drop for many items on Sunday. All the shops in the Valley are full of new toys too, in case you want fresh.

If you are in town tonight, be sure to head to the Big Picture for the Mad River Path's premier of Reveal the Path, the story of an epic worldwide quest to discover the power of bikes and trails. The trailer alone is worth a look.

Want another reason to go to the Big Picture? The Big Kicker is next Saturday, November 17th. It promises to be almost as much fun as actually skiing, although we'll gladly take some turns too.
