Hello everyone,

We are in the middle of a nice winter storm, and opening day is tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day! Come build up an appetite with some fresh turns. We've received over 10 inches so far and it is still snowing.

The storm before the storm.

Snowmakers getting some help from Ma Nature. Thanks giving!

The new high-efficiency snowguns have made a big difference in capacity. There is over a thousand vertical feet of trail in the picture above and many more guns out of frame.

Today on Downspout. Patroller Dave getting everything Ready.

Opening day plus a nice storm is sure to spark intense anticipation for first turns. It's about time. Hap's installed snows on the Jeep last weekend, and I just picked up my ski gear from Vermont North, all freshened up for touring and turning.

Willing and able. Check out Egan's Bush Pilots for the best flight plans this winter. Coach Suzie on wing.

Is anyone else really really ready to ski and ride? I think the major snowdance at the Big Kicker Winter Kick-off Party last weekend was key to this storm. By the way, if you missed the party, it was officially the "biggest event ever" at the Big Picture.

Kickin' it big.

The Diamond Dogs and Mad River Freestyle teams showed off on the trampoline and the snow dancing with Starline Rhythm Boys and Red Hot Juba was swing-tastic. The Flyin Ryan Foundation and the UVM Ski and Snowboard Club presented two athlete scholarships for the MRG freestyle team and the Meatheads' movie, Prime Cuts was potentially their best effort yet.  Most moving was Ryan Hawks' segment shot at MRG last winter.

According to a long time Diamond Dog coach, Ryan was "the best athlete and person I ever coached." For more on the Flyin Ryan Foundation, check out flyinryanhawks.org.

If you will be in the Valley for Thanksgiving, Timber’s hosts a spectacular buffet with all the best local fixings.

The fairest season is here. We hope to see you soon.
